Student Behaviour 

In response to the rights and responsibilities previously outlined, all students are expected to contribute to the positive well-being of our school by following the behaviour expectations established by the staff and outlined below.

Playground

Be Responsible…
• Play safely
• Think of consequences for your actions
• Line up or enter calmly and promptly

Be Respectful…
• Co-operate
• Respond promptly to duty person
• Respect rights of others

Be Reasonable…
• Play in designated areas
• Stay in line until duty person arrives

Hallway

Be Responsible…
• Walk on the right hand side of the hall

Be Respectful…
• Respect property of others
• Remove headwear

Be Reasonable…
• Use indoor/outdoor shoes
• Keep coat areas tidy

Assemblies

Be Responsible…
• Sit in assigned location
• Dismiss in an orderly way

Be Respectful…
• Participate appropriately
• Attend quietly

Be Reasonable…
• Be on time

Lunchroom

Be Responsible…
• Get adult permission to leave your class
• Go to extra curricular activities at 12:40
• Clean up your eating area

Be Respectful…
• Use an indoor voice
• Use appropriate language

Be Reasonable…
• Stay seated while eating

Washroom

Be Responsible…
• Follow hygiene rules

Be Respectful…
• Respect others privacy

Be Reasonable…
• Get permission from an adult
• Use assigned washrooms
• Return to class promptly

Before and After School

1. Door Expectations
• Supervising teacher is on duty at 9:10 a.m., at noon and both recesses.
• Children are to use the assigned door.
• Children enter the school at 9:25 a.m. and 1:10 p.m.
• Children who arrive prior to 9:25 a.m. and 1:10 p.m. are to stay in the playground.

2. Bus Expectations

Arrival
• Children are to enter the playground area when the bus arrives.

Departure
• Children are to leave the school by their assigned door.
• Children are to wait by their bus at the bus loop. Quiet activities such as visiting and talking are acceptable, but running or pushing is not.

An adult supervisor is assigned to this area each day. Each bus has at least one patrol assigned to assist as well. All students are expected to go directly home after dismissal.
