Library Life
Here's a recap of a busy year.
Hampstead library hosted 2 Scholastic Books Fairs.
Recess Reading Club was held during morning recess Days 1 to 5.
Lots of new titles were addeded to the collection, both Fiction and Non Fiction.
Story Time and Book Exchange gave the opportunity to share a story together and choose something for independent reading.
IBL classroom projects this year:
The Grade 2s and 3s travelled to Ancient Egypt and Japan, producing a travel brochure based on their learning.
Grade 4s and 5s journeyed back in time to research First Nations Peoples of Manitoba and Canada.
The Grade 1/2 class learned about Canadian Symbols which they represented in a clay photo story.
The Grade 4s and 5s took part in a number of Literature Circles, responding in a variety of ways.
The Grade 1s are investigating Properties of Materials though hands on activities.
All in all, we've had a chance to grow together, children and adults, through stories, songs, drama discussion and technology. We've had a laugh and learned a lot.
Have a safe and happy summer filled with books.
