Senior Years Graduation
Graduation from high school for 2008 Grade 12 students only, requires a minimum of 28 credits during the Grade 9 to 12 years. Of the 28 credits, some courses are required by the Department of Education, Citizenship and Youth, while others are left to student choice.
It is important for students and parents to note that various career choices for post secondary study require specific courses to be part of a student's graduation plan. It is the responsibility of the students and the parents to ensure that these requirements are met. Please work closely with our guidance counselors in planning for any post secondary studies.
As the new required Grade 11 and 12 physical education courses are implemented the number of credits requred for future students to graduate will increase to 29 credits in the 2008-9 school year, and 30 credits in the 2009-10 school year.
You can download tracking forms in Microsoft Word document form to record credits earned and check for required credits
depending on the program in which you are enrolled.
