French Immersion

Students enrolled in French Immersion have the same flexibility in meeting admission requirements for university as students enrolled in the English academic program. A strong personal interest in the language is indispensable in the Immersion program, as students will be required to function in French at an advanced level.

To graduate with a French Immersion diploma, students must earn credits in fourteen courses, studied in French. Français at the grades 9 to 12 levels is compulsory.

French Immersion IB

At the end of the Grade 10 year, students may choose to enter the IB diploma course stream in English and continue with Français IB courses (these students will not continue in the French Immersion stream).  Students who successfully complete the IB diploma requirements along with the Français IB courses will receive the prestigious International Baccalaureate Bilingual Diploma. Alternatively, students from this stream may choose the option of completing the requirements for a Department of Education French Immersion Diploma in combination with as many as 3 or 4 International Baccalaureate courses taught in English.
