WSO Visits Miles Mac

The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra visited Miles Mac in October, and presented us with a great variety of music. The program was entitiled 'Up Close and Personal' and its aim was to bring the Symphony to younger people. Winnipeg Students Place Third in International Competition - Highest for a Canadian Team
A team of Manitoba youth from Miles McDonnell Collegiate students who placed third in an international competition to build a race car to Formula One (F1) specifications was congratulated today by Education, Citizenship and Youth Minister Peter Bjornson, Advanced Education and Literacy Minister Diane McGifford and Competitiveness, Training and Trade Minister Nancy Allan.

MMC Band Students on TV
Thirty Miles Mac Band students took part in the filming of a TV episode of "Less Than Kind" which is broadcast on Citi TV on Monday nights. The filming took place at Tec Voc High School and ran from 9:30 pm until 3:10 am. Members of the cast sat in with the band while filming took place.
