Murdoch is celebrating PEACE DAYS!
To help celebrate the opening of the Canadian Museum of Human Rights, we will be joining in the local celebration of Peace Days from September 11 - 21.
Peace Days exists for all persons who believe in a culture of peace and compassion. Peace Days grew out of a desire to celebrate the United Nations' International Day of Peace, designated as September 21st each year.
Events and speakers for our students have been planned including:
Dr. Ann Frisch who is coming Sept. 18 to speak to invited students. She is a returned civilian peace keeper who has worked to make peace in violent and dangerous environments around the world.
Flags representing the birthplaces of our students, their parents and staff members will be hung in the library - to date there are about 45.
A Twitter account has been created @Murdoch4Peace for kids to share stories of compassion, forgiveness and generosity. Follow us!!
There will be many more activities and surprises!!!
