The Manitoba Scholarship and Career Handbook is designed for High School students that are thinking about entering university, college, or technical school. The book features 100's of scholarships and lots of tips on how to find and apply for scholarships. As a bonus, we have included 50 Career Profiles. WINNIPEG NORTH ROTARY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM is available to students who plan on attending a post secondary institution, who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement, have made positive contributions to their school through involvement in extra-curricular activities and have made significant contributions of time and energy to community service programs. The Garfield Weston Merit Scholarship for Colleges entrance awards were established to recognize and award outstanding college-bound students who are passionate about his or her field of study, caring about his or her family, neighborhood and community and be truly interested in becoming involved and making a difference in society. Applications are available in the guidance office or at their website at www.gwmsc.ca.

Agricultural and Food Sciences Centennial Entrance Scholarship is available to high school students who plan to enter the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences at the University of Manitoba. Agriculture and food related industries are growing in world importance and with a shortage of graduates in these professions, now is a great time for young people to consider a career in agricultural and food sciences. THE YOUTH LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM recognizes Grade 12 students who have volunteered in activities that promote healthy living in their communities and schools. Two hundred scholarships of $500 each are available for students graduating from Grade 12 during the 2009-10 school year. Applications are due by March 26, 2010. Complete eligibility requirements and application forms for the Youth Leadership Scholarship and the Premier’s Healthy Living Award for Youth are available at www.edu.gov.mb.ca/youth/leadership/youthleadershipscholarship.html.

Variety/MTS Allstream “Leadership in the Community” Scholarship will be awarded to a young Manitoban who is pursuing a post secondary education at a Canadian university or college. Preference will be given to applicants who have demonstrated a sincere leadership in caring for others. Information regarding the application guidelines is available in the guidance office. Completed applications must be returned to Mrs. Uruski in the guidance office by April 20, 2010.

“Variety Pat Riordan Fine Arts Scholarship” will be awarded to a deserving high school student who is pursuing an education in either music or fine arts at a college or university in Manitoba. Information regarding the application guidelines is available in the guidance office. Completed applications must be returned to Mrs. Uruski in the guidance office by April 20, 2010.

MTS Allstream Inc. is pleased to present the 2010 Pursue Your Calling Scholarship Program. Pursue Your Calling Scholarship is designed to encourage students to study in areas of high demand for the telecommunications industry. Scholarships will be awarded to grade 12 graduates and/or mature students entering their first year of full-time study in one of the eligible programs. MSBA STUDENT CITIZENSHIP AWARD
This year's award is open to all K-12 students. The Manitoba School Boards Association Student Citizenship Award recognizes students from Manitoba schools who demonstrate their commitment to the values of citizenship through activities such as:
1. volunteer service to the community (i.e. service to health care facilities, senior citizen groups, shelters, day care centers).
2. involvement in citizenship or character building organizations.
3. participation in student government programs or activities.
4. leadership ability to motivate others to actions to benefit the community.

RAINBOW STAGE - is offering an Individual Scholarship Program to students who are continuing their education in musical theatre. This scholarship is to encourage young people to enhance their knowledge and appreciation for musical theatre. Applications are available in the guidance office.
